The Emerald Golf Club is located within a residential community on the west side of New Bern, just off US 70/17.

The layout is parkland-style, journeying through pine-tree-lined fairways with numerous water hazards, a series of doglegs, and well-bunkered fairways and greens. It was designed by Rees Jones and is 6,924 yards, 73.8/129 course/slope ratings from the tips, with four shorter tees.
