The Emerald is located 7 miles north of St John's on US 127, about 30 minutes north of Lansing.

The golf course glides over a large tract of land surrounded by farmland and forests, with unique and isolated fairways. It's a challenging but straightforward parkland layout over rolling contours with numerous ponds and Ferdon Creek in play. A Jerry Matthews design that opened in the mid-1990s, it plays to 6,619 yards from the back tees, 72.3/143 course/slope ratings with three shorter tee boxes.
