The Links of North Dakota is located in northwest North Dakota near Williston on bluffs overlooking Lake Sakakawea.

A links course, by definition, is built on sandy soil that drains well, providing hard and fast-running fairways and greens with uneven lies throughout, and the Links of North Dakota fulfills the definition. There are no trees in play here, but tall, fescue-rough and hidden sand bunkers grab even the well-played shot, with the wind always a factor, even on the greens.
