The Lodge at Cloudcroft is 4 hours south of Albuquerque and an hour northeast of Las Cruces in the Lincoln National Forest. The lodge is a Victorian style resort in a scenic setting surrounded by the mountains, aspen, and pine trees.

The golf course is a true gem and while only 9 holes is worth going around twice. It's at about 9,000 feet above sea level with some dramatic tee shot values and vertical drops to narrow, fairway corridors bordered by numerous ponds leading the modest greens some of which are defended by sand bunkers. It's 2,387 yards, 31.5/97, course/slope ratings off the tips with one shorter tee.
