The Max roams along bluffs on the Rio Grande across from the Mexican border with a mile of riverfront including four holes along the river.

The layout provides a mix of open range and parkland style holes with mesquite trees and cacti scattered along the fairways. It's an interesting, diverse routing generally with ample room off the tee, but with an array of sand bunkers protecting the fairways and the greens yet only one water hazard in play at 17. There's five sets of tees from 4,759 yards to 7,069 yards from the tips with the middle, blue tees at 6,211 yards, 70.5/125, course/slope ratings, designed by Robert Trent Jones, II.
