Timbergate is about 30 minutes south of Indy at exit 80 off I-65, which is partially bordering a residential community.

It's a wide-open, links-style layout with a generous amount of sand bunkers and water features in play, yet it is mostly fair off the tee. The fairways are mounded and contoured a bit, with the first cut of rough heavy, and tall fescue grasses off the fairways. It was designed by Clyde Johnston and Fuzzy Zoeller. There are five sets of tees, the middle tees at 6,109 yards, 69.7/129, course/slope ratings.
