Trapp River is 10 miles north of Wausau on a large, natural tract of land along the Trapp River surrounded by farmland and forests.

The layout's fairways are bordered by trees with several ponds and the Trapp River cutting through the middle of the golf course. There's a mix of open and narrow, tree lined fairways leading to small, oval greens, half of which are guarded by sand traps. The course was designed by Todd Sloan and from the blue tees plays to only 6,335 yards, 69.3/116, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
