Turtleback is about 30 minutes north of Eau Claire in Rice Lake on the west side of US 53.

The golf course provides an interesting routing with a variety of holes and terrain along unique and isolated fairways. There's a mix of broad and narrow, tree lined fairways, numerous doglegs, multiple water hazards, and sand traps defending the greens and the occasional fairway. There's four sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,618 yards, 72.3/133, course/slope ratings, designed by Todd Severude in 1984.
