Vaaler Creek is an hour west of Austin and an hour north of San Antonio in Blanco off US 281.

The layout begins with modesty but rises with challenge, especially at the finish. There's a variety of entertaining holes with dog legs, forced carries, elevated tee boxes and greens, water hazards on half the holes, and sand bunkers along the fairways and the narrow approaches to the greens. It was designed by Michael Lowry and JR Newman with tees from 4,577 yards to 6,864 yards, the Blue tees are 6,299 yards, 70.6/129, course/slope ratings.
