Western Lakes is in the western suburbs of Milwaukee in Pewaukee just off I-94 at exit 290 to the north.

The layout is over gently rolling, parkland terrain south of Lake Pewaukee along generally broad fairways with stands of mature hardwoods at the borders. It's mostly straightforward save for several doglegs with multiple streams and ponds in play and sand bunkers defending many of the landing zones off the tee and the greens. It's 6,601 yards from the back tees, 71.2/124, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed in 1960 by Lawrence Packard.
