Whispering Winds is on the west side of Clovis on the Cannon AFB.

The golf course is a traditional layout winding along tree-lined fairways over level terrain with desert at the borders. It has multiple ponds, numerous slight doglegs, and a minimum of sand traps. Overall, it is very straightforward and playable. It's only 6,032 yards from the men's tees for a par of 70, 66.9/104, course/slope ratings.
