The Plains golf course is about 1 1/2 hours northwest of Missoula on the north side of Plains.

The course is a traditional 9-hole layout along fir-tree-defined fairways meandering through a scenic setting in a valley between the Cabinet and Little Bitterroot Mountains just off the Clark Fork River in Glacier County. It's short, at 2,699 yards from the back tees for a par of 36, built by the community in 1918.
