Wilson Lake is located in a cleared setting on the north side of Wilson Lake, about 10 miles west of Farmington.

The golf course is a classic Wayne Stiles layout that has been restored to much of the original design. It's straightforward, with five parallel holes ending with a stern finish up the hill to the clubhouse. The greens are small, mushroom-shaped with subtle undulations, sand bunkers are plentiful though mostly greenside, and there's a scattering of trees along the fairways with minimal rough. There are three sets of tees, and for 18 holes, it plays to 6,202 yards (68.4/120, course/slope ratings off the tips.
