The York CC is about 45 minutes west of Lincoln just off I-80 to the north on the west side of York surrounded by farmland and forests.
The golf course is a classic layout winding through old growth, elm and ash, tree lined fairways over with slightly undulating terrain. There's a creek coiling through twelve of the holes and sand bunkers protecting the generally small, oval or kidney shaped greens as hazards. Interestingly enough, the holes on the front nine are routed north and south while the back side is predominately east to west, save for two holes. There's four sets of tees, the tips play to a short 6,070 yards, 69.8/122, course/slope ratings and a par of 70. The front, original nine holes were designed by Charles Johnston in 1919 with Jim Engh providing a redesign and new nine in 1987.
