Achasta is in a resort/residential community in the North Georgia mountains south of Dahlonega off US 19 and Birch River Drive.

The golf course is a challenging layout in a valley over slightly undulating terrain in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains along the Chestatee River. There's water in play in the form of the River or lakes on more than half the holes and it's well bunkered throughout the fairways and greens. There's six tees altogether and from the Gold tees it's 6,967 yards, 73.3/136, course/slope ratings, a Jack Nicklaus design.
