Aiken Golf Club is a classic layout located just west of downtown Aiken off either exit 18 or exit 22 of I-20.

The routing provides open and confining, pine tree lined fairways over rolling topography with an abundance and variety of conventional and waste sand bunkers protecting the landing zones and modest, raised greens. It's very engaging off the tee with a wide variety of holes boasting a series of wild greens with challenging pin placements. It's on the short side at 6,048, yards from the tips, par 70, 68.0/115, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees. It's rather historic as it was originally built in 1912 by I.W. Fowler and E.G. Egerrton to complement a resort hotel being developed in town, initially with just eleven holes. The remaining seven were added later by their professional, John Inglis who had worked with William Flynn & Donald Ross.
