Bald Mountain is a mountain style layout on the north side of Lake Lure and west of Bald Mountain Lake with the rock faced cliffs of Bald Mountain in full view.

The golf course is rugged and challenging over narrow, tree lined, sloping fairways with water water hazards in play on seven holes and modest greens well defended by sand bunkers. The course has 4 sets of tees and plays to 6,283 yards from the back tees, 70.9/135, course/slope ratings, a Willie B. Lewis design from 1974.
