Bangor Municipal is a 27-hole course squeezed into a tract of land on the east side of the airport at I-95 and I-395, bordering the Bangor Raceway.

The layout is a parkland-style design traversing generally broad, tree-lined fairways along numerous slight doglegs with sand bunkers positioned around the greens and the occasional fairway landing zone. The 18-hole course plays to 6,335 yards from the tips, 69.2/119 course/slope ratings with two shorter tees. The Kelly nine plays to 3,215 yards from the tips, 70.8/132, course/slope for 18 holes, a Geoffrey Cornish design.
