Hillcrest is midway between Bangor and Houlton off I-95 a few miles in Millinocket in a setting providing views of Mount Katahdin throughout the round.

The golf course is a 9 hole, executive layout along tree lined and rolling fairways with sand bunkering only bordering the small, oval greens. There's three par 3s and six 4s and an overall a par of 33 at 2,477 yards, designed by Larry Striley.
