Black Desert is on the north side of St. George just north of Estrada on Snow Canyon Parkway in Greater Zion.

The golf course is carved through black lava rock fields along broad, undulating fairways with a generous amount of conventional and waste area sand bunkers with numerous risk/reward options. It's a most scenic setting with Snow Canyon State Park in the background and an horizon punctuated by the distinctive Kayenta sandstone native to the area. There's five tees from 4,973 yards to 7,288 yards from the tips for 19 holes, designed by Tom Weiskoph.
