Brushy Mountain is about 30 minutes east of Lenoir on the west side of Taylorsville, just off US 64.

It's a parkland layout gallivanting through tree-lined fairways off on its own without development or homes lining the golf course. There's water in play on four holes, sand mostly around the greens, par 5s that are reachable in two, and a drivable par 4 with the right kick off a slope. The course was designed by William Lewis with six sets of tees, from 3,711 yards at the Reds to 6,944 yards from the back tees. The middle tees are 6,079 yards and 70.0/127 course/slope ratings.
