Canal Shores Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 60 layout on the east side of Evanston and Wilmette, bordering the North Shore Channel of the Chicago River. It's an old layout from the early 1900s that's been updated and re-imaged through community support.

The layout is unique as it crosses six city streets when playing, and you will find yourself waiting at crosswalks for traffic to clear as you amble along the park-like setting. Altogether, there are 12 par 3s, and the balance of the par 4s is mostly drivable, albeit with minuscule green complexes featuring several template greens. It will play to 3,612 yards, 59.6/93, course/slope ratings from the white tees with one shorter set of tee boxes designed by Todd Quito.
