The Glen Club was built on the former Glenview Naval Air Station between the Tollway and Waukegan on Lake Avenue in Glenview on the north side of Chicago, 30 minutes from O'Hare.
The golf course was designed by Tom Fazio in 2001 on a rather flat, motionless piece of ground and transformed into a layout that rolls over undulating terrain along mounded fairways, humps, and hollows, providing 35 feet in elevation change and occasional peeks of the Loop skyline. Hazards include five lakes, a stream, sand bunkers along the fairways and greens, and 5,000 trees planted as part of the design. Most holes offer wide fairways with tall fescue grass rough at the borders and generally a stroke lost to recover. It is a par 72 offering 4 different tee boxes and playing at the max of 7,149 yards, 74.8/140, course/slope ratings.
