The Catskill Golf Club is just off I-87 at NY 23, to the east, about 45 minutes south of Albany.

The golf course is a parkland layout winding along narrow, tree-lined fairways over rolling topography. There's moderate use of sand bunkers and a creek along several holes with postage stamp-sized greens. From the back tees, it plays to 6,482 yards, 71.8/135, course/slope ratings; the whites are 6,013 yards, 69.8/131, with two shorter tees. The layout is a classic, at least the first nine holes, designed by James R. Thompson in the late 1920s, and the second nine were designed by William Oettinger in 2000.
