Cedar Rock is on the east side of Lenoir on Wilkesboro Highway partially within a residential community.

The golf course is a parkland layout along mature, hardwood tree lined fairways over rolling terrain. It's a shot maker's delight meandering along narrow fairway corridors with numerous doglegs, water hazards, and sand bunkers at the landing zones and greenside. It was designed by Ellis Maples in the 1970s and is long at 7,153 yards from the tips, the White tees are 6,096 yards, 70.5/128, course/slope ratings.
