The Charlevoix CC is a historic layout built in 1886 and designed by Willie Watson and Herbert James Tweedie of Scotland. The course was originally part of the Chicago Club, an exclusive summer retreat, but in 1937, it was deeded to the City of Charlevoix and became a 9-hole municipal golf course.
The holes on the south side (1,7,8,9) are fairly wide open, whereas those on the north side (2-6) wind through a forested area. There are no water hazards, but the course does have a moderate amount of sand bunkering to defend the modest greens. This 9-holer measures 3,015 yards, (34.2/115, course/slope ratings) from the back tees with two alternate tees.
