Classic Club is at the northeast intersection of Cook and the I-10 on land without development bordering the fairways.

The golf course has been one of the host venues for the Bob Hope PGA Tour stop. It was developed on a formerly flat tract of Palm Desert land that with significant earth-moving and fill created a layout over undulating and mounded fairways with numerous elevated tees. It's a roomy layout along broad fairways with an abundance of sand traps along the fairways and defending the greens with multiple lakes impacting play. From the back tees it's 7,322 yards, 75.8/144, course/slope ratings with five shorter tees, designed by Arnold Palmer.
