Colorado National is located 20 miles north of Denver, off I-25 at Baseline Road to the west within a residential development.

The golf course is a rolling, links-type layout along a mostly treeless landscape over hard and fast fairways with water hazards in play on half the holes. There's a generous amount of sand bunkers at the landing zones off the tee and defending the generous, undulating, and quick greens. There are varying changes in elevation throughout, with 180-degree views of the Rockies, including Long's Peak and Mount Meeker. From the back tees, it's 7,676 yards or as short as 4,790 yards; the Copper tees play to 6,230 yards, 68.7/117, course/slope ratings, designed by Jay Morrish.
