Copake CC is off the Taconic at Route 23 where Columbia County rolls into the Berkshire Mountains on Copake Lake.

Copake, Mohican for "snake pond", is a parkland layout clambering over rolling terrain on the northwest shore of Copake Lake with views of the Lake and the Berkshires throughout. The fairways are generally forgiving off the tee and lead to small oval or square shaped greens well defending by sand traps. It was originally designed in the 1920s by Devereux Emmet and is only 6,266 yards, 70.6/132, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
