The Country Club of Barre is 5 miles east of Montpelier and a couple of miles north of Barre.

The layout moves through a stunning setting over hilly, sloping, tree-lined fairways with postage stamps for greens defended by deep-faced sand traps. The course opened in 1924 and was designed by Wayne Stiles, with the additional 9 holes added in the 1970s by Dr. Michael Hurdzan. It's a shot maker's delight at 6,315 yards, 68.9/121, course/slope ratings from the tips with two shorter tees.
