The Country Club of Barre is 5 miles east of Montpelier and a couple of miles north of Barre.

The layout marches through a stunning setting over hilly and sloping, tree lined fairways with postage stamps for greens defended by deep faced, sand traps. The course originally opened in 1924 and was designed by Wayne Stiles with the additional 9 holes added in the 1970s by Dr. Michael Hurdzan. It's a shot maker's delight at 6,315 yards, 68.9/121, course/slope ratings from the tips with two shorter tees.
