Sugarbush is in the Green Mountain National Forest, about an hour from Burlington off I-89 at Waterbury.

The layout is mountain-style, providing scenic views of the Mad River Valley throughout the round. It's a hilly course with blind shots and a few doglegs along the broad, tree-lined fairways, with minimal sand traps mostly around the greens. There are four sets of tees altogether, with the tips playing to 6,464 yards, 71.4/131, course/slope ratings, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.
