The Delaware Golf Club is between Worthington and Delaware on US 23 about 30 minutes from downtown Columbus. It was original a 9 hole private club designed by Donald Ross in the 1920s, but opened to public play once Dr Michael Hurdzan designed a new 9 around a residential community.
It's easy to see the difference between the Ross nine and the Hurdzan 9s. The original holes are along heavy, tree lined fairways over rolling contours encircling the Perkins Observatory with modest, well defended greens. The new nine features broad, contoured fairways with numerous water hazards and a copious amount of sand bunkers scattered along the fairways and defending the generous, greens. The Blue tees are 6,378 yards, 70.8/128, course/slope ratings and a par of 71 with one longer and two shorter tees.
