Desert Pines is just east of downtown Las Vegas, about 20 minutes from the Strip at exit 73 off the I-515.

The golf course is reasonably wide open off the tee but features numerous sand bunkers and water hazards on the narrow approaches to the green complexes. It's a poor man's Shadow Creek, so to speak, in a desert environment, lending a Carolina feel with pine tree-lined fairways over relatively level terrain. The course can play to 6,810 yards, 71.1/137, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees, designed by Perry Dye.
