The Dunes are located on Sanibel Island, near the end of the Causeway off the coast and southwest of Ft. Myers.

The course borders a residential community and preserve recognized by the Audubon Society with abundant ponds, wetlands, and wildlife. The layout is a shot-maker's delight, where course management off the tee and the approach shots to the small greens are the keys to scoring. It was designed by Mark McCumber and is short and tight at 5,606 yards, par 70 from the back tees, 68.8/129, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.
