Eagle Rock is on the east side of Defiance along River Road north of the Maumee River.

The golf course exudes character with its classic design as it roams over a large, natural tract of forested land with a moderate elevation change, uncommon for northwestern Ohio. It's a challenging layout where course management prevails with numerous water hazards, doglegs, narrow fairways, and small, perched postage stamp greens protected by deep sand bunkers. It's a short 6,130 yards from the tips, par 71, 68.8/120 course and slope ratings with two shorter tees, originally designed by Tom Bendelow in the 1920s, who was responsible for Medinah in Chicago plus 600+ more courses across the country.
