Elkhorn Ridge is in a residential development off I-90 at exit 17 between Spearfish and Whitewood.

The golf course journeys over a large tract of land on either side of the Interstate with a blend of holes along the wide, open prairie while others move through the forests with significant change in elevation providing scenic views of the Centennial Valley. The front nine is meanders over the side of a mountain while the backside is along Polo Creek Canyon overlooking the Frawley Homestead. There's five sets of tees overall with the middle tees playing to 5,920 yards,68.6/122, course/slope ratings, designed by Patrick Wyss.
