Far Oaks is on the Illinois side of St Louis north of Fairview Heights off I-64 to Rt 159 north or south of Collinsville off I-55 at Rt 159 south.

The course provides for a blend of links style and parkland elements along rolling and mounded, fairways with water hazards and sand traps positioned strategically throughout the layout. The course was designed by Bob Goalby in the late 1990s and plays to 6,847 yards, 72.1/133, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tee boxes.
