The Firestone CC is on the south side of Akron, off I-77 at Arlington Road to the north with 54 holes of golf. It is available for public play through a stay-and-play program.

The club has been a classic tournament venue for various PGA tournaments over the years, including the Senior Players Championship, NEC World Series of Golf, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, PGA Championship, American Golf Classic, and the Rubber City Open Invitational.

With the exception of the Fazio layout, which features a more open, links design, the courses are classic parkland designs over rolling, forested terrain with a generous amount of sand bunkering and various streams and ponds, mostly on the North course. The North Course, a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design, 7,125 yards, 74.8/134 course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tees; the South Course, 7,283 yards, 76.1/132, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.; The Fazio West course, 6,904 yards off the tips, 73.5/128, course/slope ratings, designed by Tom Fazio.
