Forest Akers is MSU's two-18-hole golf course located on the southeast side of Lansing, just south of the University at I-496 and Harrison.

Both courses are traditional layouts, marching along tree-lined fairways over rolling topography with several water hazards and sand bunkers positioned at the landing zones off the tee and defending the modest greens. The West is typically the tournament layout as it's 450+ yards longer and more demanding, with a generous amount of sand in play along the contoured fairways with multiple doglegs. From the tips, The West-7,013 yards, 75.0/137, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees; redesigned in 1992 by MSU graduate Arthur Hills. The East is 6,452 yards, 70.4/118, course/slope with four shorter tees, designed by Bruce Matthews with a Hills redesign in 1997.
