Gator Trace is located south of Fort Pierce east of Federal Highway at Weatherbee in a residential development.

The golf course is a stereotypical, Florida layout with pine and palm trees scattering and lining the fairways and homes or condos bordering the exterior holes. There's water and wetlands on either side of the fairways and/or around the greens on most holes with a generous amount of sand traps positioned along the landing zones and greens. The layout is an Arthur Hills design of 6,092 yards from the tips, 68.9/123, course/slope ratings and a par of 70, with twp shorter tees.
