Governors Run is 1 1/2 hours east of St Louis in Carlyle on the west side of the Carlyle Reservoir with a championship level, 18-hole course and an 18-hole, lighted par 3 course.

The layout is through woodlands and farmland with the mounded fairways bordered by tall fescue. The front side is more open, while the back side is along tree-lined fairways with creeks and lakes impacting play on almost every hole. From the back tees, it can play to 7,013 yards, 73.9/131, with four shorter sets of tees, designed by Don Horrell.
