The Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course is located midway between Mt. Vernon and St. Louis off I-64 at the Okawville exit to the south.

The front 9 wanders over slightly rolling contours along the tree lined fairways bordering Plum Creek while the backside follows the Interstate for a few holes with wide, open links-style fairways. There's either Plum Creek or lakes and ponds in play on the majority of the holes with a generous amount of sand bunkers at the landing zones off the tees and defending the greens. The course was designed by Gary Hoelcher and Robert Garard and measures 6,513 yards, 70.9/128, course/slope ratings off the back tees with two shorter tees.
