Grand Lake is within a residential community north of Houston off I-45 in Conroe south of FM 2854 a few miles.

The golf course is a parkland layout along wide open fairways bordered by heavy rough and natural areas with an assortment of shapes and sizes of sand bunkers along the fairways and greens. It was originally designed by Gary Player with a redesign by Jeff Blume, and from the tips can play to 7,202 yards, 75.2/142, course/slope ratings, the blue tees are 6,505 yards, 71.9/136, with a total 5 sets of tees.
