Grand Lake is within a residential community north of Houston off I-45 in Conroe, a few miles south of FM 2854.

The golf course is a parkland layout with wide open fairways bordered by heavy rough and natural areas and an assortment of shapes and sizes of sand bunkers along the fairways and greens. It was originally designed by Gary Player and redesigned by Jeff Blume. From the tips, you can play to 7,202 yards, 75.2/142, course/slope ratings. The blue tees are 6,505 yards, 71.9/136, with 5 sets of tees.
