Great Bear is located between Stroudsburg and Bushkill on US 209 within an upscale, residential development in the Poconos.

The golf course lumbers over a large tract of forestland along unique and isolated, fairways. It features broad, hilly and sloping fairways along numerous doglegs with 48 sculptured, sand bunkers at the landing areas and guarding the greens and several water hazards in play in the middle of the course. It can play to 7,025 with a 139 slope from the tips, the blue tees are 6,105 yards, 69.7/133, course/slope ratings, a Jack Nicklaus design.
