Harbor Shores is on the north side of Benton Harbor, developed as part of a resort/residential community on reclaimed land of a former Superfund site.

The golf course has a scenic layout and setting with three holes bordering Lake Michigan, 10 holes bordering the Paw Paw River, Ox Creek, and its wetlands, and 4 holes through rolling, tree-lined fairways and over ravines. The layout's broad fescue and tree-lined fairways and greens are bordered by conventional stand traps and massive waste areas with numerous water hazards in play. It can play to 6,852 yards from the tips, 74.7/143, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Jack Nicklaus.
