Hickory Hill is north of Boston on the west side of Lawrence and the Merrimack River off I-93 at Lowell St, then west.

The layout is a traditional design winding along tree-lined fairways over slightly rolling contours. The fairways are defined by old-growth, hardwood trees with numerous water hazards in play as well as sand traps primarily guarding the generally small, oval, or kidney-shaped greens. It's short at just 6,287 yards from the tips, 70.8/123 course, and slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by Manny Francis.
