Highfields is within a residential community in the Blackstone Valley in Grafton off Magill Road about 45 minutes from downtown.

The course is a stereotypical New England layout along fairways bordered by old-growth hardwood trees over hilly topography. There's water on six holes, but no forced carries along the broad fairways leading to generous, accommodating, but well-defended greens. It was designed by Cornish, Silva & Mungeam with five sets of tees allowing the course to be played from 5,266 yards to 7,021, with the white tees at 6,024 yards, 69.7/127, course/slope ratings.
