Highland Park is on the east side of Auburn, about 30 minutes west of Syracuse, and is located at the northern tip of Owasco Lake in the Finger Lakes Region.

It's a traditional layout over rolling hills along tree-lined fairways with sparing use of sand bunkering, a couple of lakes, and modest greens. There are three sets of tees, the longest of which is only 6,400 yards, 71.1/120, course/slope ratings. The course has been around since the 1920s as a nine-holer, but a second nine was added, and the remainder was redesigned by Geoffrey Cornish.
