Hiland is located in Southern Adirondack Mountain Region near Lake George on the north side of Glens Falls partially bordering a residential development.

The golf course is a challenging, parkland layout with a surprising amount of elevation change as it traverses over rolling, tree lined fairways. There's numerous water hazards including a semi-island green, multiple slight doglegs, and sand traps defending the fairways and modest greens. It was designed by Stephen Kay in 1989 and plays to 6,797 yards, 72.8/130, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees.
