Ironwood is on the west side of Wauseon, partially within an upscale residential development surrounded by farmland and forests.

The course layout marches along broad, narrow fairways defined by trees on a slightly rolling 155-acre tract of land. There are six ponds dotting the landscape, yet a sparing use of sand bunkers as it moves along straightforward and dogleg fairways. It will play to 6,360 yards, par of 71, 69.7/118 off the back tees with three shorter tees, designed by Harold Paddock.
